Baptist Bible College Students help Local Children
When the college students showed up at Robberson Elementary last week, a mob of children sprinted to the playground fence in a joyous frenzy.
Who knew state-mandated tests could be so much fun?
For the past six weeks, students from Baptist Bible College have been visiting Robberson for an hour every Wednesday — to offer encouragement, teach test-taking skills and guide students through the MAP test process.
The point? To provide Robberson’s young test-takers with positive role models and to raise the scores on the Missouri Assessment Program tests — the state’s academic measuring stick to satisfy the federal mandates of No Child Left Behind.
